My Favorite Video Game Songs #25 – Peaceful Town Themes

Sometimes when I make these lists, there is an initial 5-8 that shoot out and must be on this list and then the rest of the list is much more slowly assembled carefully and through sporadic memory, nostalgic bits, and surfing waves of playlists on Youtube for inspiration.

Not for this list. The ideas kept flooding and I had no problem whipping out ten. I could just as easily make another ten! There’s just something to be said about a memorable town theme that leans on the motifs of coziness and safety. For this list, there will only be themes that provoke either of those motifs I see often in these towns. It doesn’t matter if the town gets its face blasted off later in the game (unless the music foretells this like Eryth Sea), I just want the song as it is to permeate feelings of coziness and safety. It could come out like in my first song selection as a more upbeat carefree tune, or like the second song as more of a therapeutic refuge.

Hello Huesteus readers!

‘Tis I, the partner and fiancée of Huesteus! I (happily and of my own volition) spend quite a lot of breath saying “you should check out Nick’s blog… it’s huesteus.wordpress.com,” and so I feel quite at home writing this. One of many things about Nick that has me all jazzed up to marry him this year is that we’re quite financially compatible. No, it’s not as fun and romantic as other kinds of compatibility that we have as a couple, but the security that comes with feeling good about one another’s financial habits does tend to support all that fun and romance, so I find it important. As cohabiting love buddies, I benefit a lot from Nick’s purchases and with his handy yearlong budgeting and from it, I can see just how much most of his purchases help support our life together in ways big and small. To show my appreciation, I have decided to utilize one of the main pathways I know of getting to Nick’s heart: contributing to this blog. So here, my friends, are my top five favorite things that Nick purchased in 2019.

It’s that time once again where the internet gets to see my biggest annual financial mistakes and successes. This year I’d say across the board my bad purchases weren’t so frequent or as low as last year’s, which is nice. In each listing I will mention each price to the best of my knowledge, why is was so bad or good, and a little story.
