A popular streamer, caster, personality, and gamer named Day9 (Sean Plott) made a video the other week that really spoke to me talking about in detail his realizations for what he needs are and how to categorize and be successful at them without feeling burnt out or letting time get bloated up and wasted.

To give a little bit of background, Day9 has a background in mathematics and loves to dabble in programming projects. He also frequently streams a large variety of video games, and casts a lot of special tournaments and events.

In this article, Day9 mentions a few weeks ago going through a burn out from his day to day life. He asked himself, “What do I do now?” His response was to do what the common response is, which is take a chill pill and kinda relax for a while. So he began to do that for a couple of days and realized that he wasn’t actually feeling less tired or exhausted or burnt out.

In this article I’m going to talk about the lessons I learned from him as he identified his needs as well as compare how his model works in my life.

My Pet Peeves pArT 2

From the makers that brought you “My Pet Peeves” (Part 1) in April, I bring you a list of 10 more things that wrestle my jimmies and then tackle and grapple them. These aren’t a list of things that obviously make a normal human upset, like misquoting Sagacawea or misspelling the very same word by switching the g and c. These are the ticks that make my back go straight and my cat like eyebrows frazzle into a puddle of angst.

The first series went so well even though I was worried my friends would abuse my honesty but it turns out they abused me enough anyway so nothing new was learned. While I don’t promise these unnamed hooligans new content, I do wish them a happy time as you are reminded of why you love me dearly. As Dubya once said, “There’s an old saying in Tennessee. I know it’s in Texas, probably in Tennessee, that says: fool me once, shame on you. Fool me.. you can’t get fooled again.”

My Favorite Video Game Songs #16 – Forest Themes

There is hardly a more prevalent thematic in a video game than seeing a forest area in a game. Whether it’s more of a swamp or a jungle, a funky beat or solemn experience, a well treed area is there for you to explore and get lost in. I have noticed that I am increasingly taking up a bunch of forest songs for previous iterations of this series. So at the end of this list is all the songs from previous lists that I was bummed to not put in this one. (Link to previous list #15)

Term of the Day #3: Isekai

So the word of the day is “isekai” which is a subgenre of Japanese fiction that is centered around a core concept where there is a normal world and also a parallel or fictional universe where you or your mental state is either transported or trapped. Some incredibly popular examples of this are Sword Art Online, Code Lyoko or even Digimon.

In this post I’m gonna talk about the recent importance this term bears with me as well as lessons I’ve learned from its attraction.
